1 John 4:7-12

A couple thoughts....

7Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son[b] into the world that we might live through him. 10This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for[c] our sins. 11Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. 1 John 4:7-12

Any thoughts?
A couple of ideas I had....

*8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.Am I loving people in everything I do to show I love God?

* 11Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. What are constructive things I am doing or have done this week to love a neighbor?

* God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.God choose us to make His love complete in. Broken and weak vessels. How do we live a life worthy of His love?

Be Blessed

absurd

Today at bible study there was a discussion as to how to pronounce "absurd". I looked up the word in IPA and I have to admit that Katie and I were wrong on how to pronounce it. The "a" in absurd is pronounced as you would the "a" in the word "hat". It is not pronounced as the "a" as you would in the word "other". I hope this makes sense.

3 cheers for PGM's!!

I just want to say that God is amazing. This past week I have been very stressed and have felt kinda alone. But because Jesus is so stinkin' cool, he has shown me how he is always there and has placed certain people in my life to help me turn to God more.

Ok...here are the PGM's!!!
-my best friend came up from State at the spur of the moment last weekend simply to support me and because she knew I needed a friend.
-I found out another resident loves Jesus and we had an amazing conversation!
-Another resident talked to me how he felt about church while I was working the desk and he asked me my beliefs and I got to share.
-People who don't believe in God at all keep on confiding in me and telling me their problems and I am able to pray for them and show them God's love!
-A friend that I haven't talked to in a while called and left the most amazing voice mail and it was so encouraging. It was just what I needed to hear. It was like God told her all my problems, and she knew all she had to say through him!
-Today is simply a beautiful day, it is the day that the Lord has made! :)

I just wanted to share my PGM's and I hope that you all continue to have some! God is amazing and just remember that he wants us. We need to lean on him on all situations and he will always provide. I am blown away by his mighty power. Taste and see that the Lord is GOOD!!

Making Time

For the first three weeks I was pretty much unwavering in faithfulness, but this last weekend and this week have been quite a struggle for me. Getting into the word, Bible Studies, Life Group, time with residents and friends has just turned into another thing on the list instead of a blessing that I have the privilege of being a part of. It hit me today when I was praying for a couple of friends of mine who have either lost a grandparent or who's grandparent is quite ill. When I was telling my friend that I would be praying for her family, I felt as though I was doing it for my glory, to show her that I'm a good guy. I've become so consumed by the things that are piling up, that I forgot that the only glory that I might receive is from being part of God's plan.

I was really reminded that I need to take a step back, realign my priorities and put God back at the center of my life. This may not have been the same exact case for any of you, but it's just a reminder that sometimes we become so overwhelmed that we forget to do things for the right reasons. So, this is a reminder and a thank you message. Reminder: keep the Lord in mind at all times. If you notice that you are allowing Him to slip out of your life, figure out what you have to do in order to let Him back in. Thank you: when I was thinking of praying earlier, I instantly thought of this group and how I've also been neglecting this. It motivated me to get it together because I know that there are many more of us out there who are trying to balance the same things. So again, thank you all!

Much love and blessings.

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:23-25

Yay PGM.

I'd just like to share that a few of my residents have been coming to church, either with me or they show up and sit by me :) And it's pretty much super cool. PGM.
